Dysport

 Over time, as we age, fine lines and wrinkles find there way on our face! Our first trip to an injector is, usually, to seek help with those pesky fine lines and wrinkles. Our go to for softening dramatic or static lines, is a neuromodulator. Neuromodulators are botulinum toxins that are superficially injected into a muscle to relax the affected area thus improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. An added benefit to neuromodulators is the “glow” that they give to the skin.Botox is a well known botulinum toxin and is the brand that most people associate with treatment of fine lines and wrinkles.  Did you know that there are three other brands of neuromodulators on the market? Dysport, Jeauveau, and Xeomin….they all do the same thing….relax muscles!
At Belle Ame Aesthetics & Wellness, our neuromodulator of choice is Dysport. We have found that it kicks in faster, lasts longer, and provides a natural appearance. Neuromodulators are not for everybody! Below, see a list of contraindications or potential contraindications to Dysport.
DO NOT TAKE DYSPORT IF YOU:

• Are allergic to Dysport or any of the ingredients in Dysport.      
• Are allergic to cow's milk protein
• Had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Myobloc® (rimabotulinumtoxinB),      Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA) or Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA)
• Have a skin infection at the planned injection site

DYSPORT MAY NOT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

• You have had surgical changes to your face
• You have very weak muscles in the treatment area
• Your face looks very different from side to side
• The  injection site is inflamed
• You have droopy eyelids or sagging eyelid folds
• You have deep facial scars
• You have thick, oily skin
• Your wrinkles can't be smoothed by spreading them apart
